Server side includes can now be used for navigation menu's in html files. This also extends to includes in php files.

The advantages of using SSI, over the inline method, for the menu are as follows:

1) The size of the HTML generated can decrease by up to 75% (depending on which options are selected).

2) The time taken to upload can decrease by up to 30%

3) A change to the menu (for example, adding a document to the downloads section or changing a website creation option) will only effect the menu file (one file) and not all the HTML files that include the menu.
