Installing the software

We use Actual Installer

(This guide applies to Windows 10)

To install the software you need to download and run the installation program.

The following screenshots will guide you through this process.

It will be easier for you if you close any other applications you have running and you are not using, so your screen is clear.

1. Copy the link to your PC paste buffer

You will have been emailed a link that points to the executable file you require to install the software. Left click the mouse at the start of the link and drag it to the right until the whole of the link is selected. Then right click and the menu shown below will pop up. Right click on Copy.

2. Download and save

Go to your browser and in the site/URL window (see arrow 1 in the picture below) paste the link in. You can use Ctrl-v, or right click and select paste.

Once the link is copied into your browser press return and you should be prompted to select Run, Save or Cancel. Click on Save, as shown by arrow 2 below.

3. Locate the setup file

Next go to the file you have downloaded. Just click Open folder as shown in the picture below.

4. Run the setup file

A window similar to below should open. Right click on the ULMxxxxSetup application file and select Run as administrator.

Before doing so this is a good opportunity to delete any old setup files you may have downloaded. If unsure, just delete all files that begin ULMxxxxSetup and then start again from step 2; this will give a fresh download and reduce confusion.

5. User Account Control Message

You will probably be asked the following question:

Do you want to allow this application to make changes to your device?

If asked, select Yes

Wait until the old version (if it exists) is uninstalled. This will happen in the background. Please wait.

6. Previous version uninstalled

Once uninstalled, the following picture will appear. Just click No.

7. Install the software

The screen below is the first screen applicable to the actual installation. Just click Next (after selecting another language if you wish). There will be several other screens (agreeing to the licence etc). There are no screenshots for these as they are self-explanatory. When you click Next this will become apparent.

8. Select where to install

By default, the software will install in your program files folder, in a Redseal Software sub-folder. It is best to accept the default by clicking Next, but you can change the folder if you really wish to.

9. Installation complete

The last screen displayed by the installer will look something like the picture below.

Selecting “Learn how to create a new league” will open screenshots in your web browser to help create a new league. Or just leave “Launch UniversalLeagueManager” ticked and click finish to run the software.

10. Finally

The UniversalLeagueManager will run. If your league does not load then select Open from the File menu and navigate to your league. After doing this once you should not need to do it again (on subsequent updates).

11. Run as administrator

A shortcut will have been added to your desktop. A simple double click will run the software, but you need to run it in admin mode. There are two ways to do this:

1) Either right click on the shortcut and select "Run as administrator".

You will have to do this every time you run the software.

2) Or use File Explorer to navigate to where the software is installed.

The default is C:\Program Files (x86)\Redseal Software\UniversalLeagueManager

(You may have changed this in see step 8 above)

Then right click UniversalLeagueManager.exe and select Properties. Select the Compatibility tab and tick "Run this program as an administrator". Click Apply and then click OK. Then in future just double click the shortcut.

12. Check for updates

After this software is installed, you will also get a "Check for Updates" in your RedSealSW program group. Please use this to check and download updates when you want to. (The ULM software will check for updates, when you run it, every 21 days.)

This will pick up from step 5. Updating this way will not mean going back to step 1.
